Myton Daze was a big success this year, with a lot of young and young at heart people walking away with the prizes. But whether they won or lost, everyone had a good time. The following is a list of the winners.
The Jane Thompsen "Family of the Year" award went to Ilene and Dale Johnson and family for outstanding community service during the past year.
Wendy Avila was crowned Little Miss Myton 1997, with Mindy Avila First Attendant and Kristy Harding Second Attendant.
Janelle Colorow was crowned Little Miss Indian Princess, with Melba Groves first Attendant and Monie Rose Manning Second Attendant.
The Bike race for the 5 to 10 year olds was won by Cody Appawora, and the 11 to 14 year olds was won by Sean Salas.
The watermelon eating contest for 5 to 7 year olds was won by Albert Silva, with Kevin coming in 2nd. In the 8 to 10 year old race J B Gabbard was first with Amy Bilby close behind. In the 11 to 14 year old race, Aaron Davis and Justin Bear were winners.
The Tug of war was a lot of fun! At least for us watching. The Sheriff's Department had to borrow some local help since only two officers showed up. Myton's Fire Department pulled against the officers team and the winner was??.. Myton Fire Department!!!

The east half of the Museum was open all day, with Bud Cooper to show and tell all about the new pictures for every ones enjoyment.A very special Thanks goes to the City Staff who worked above and beyond the call of duty to make this day a success. Myton City would also like to thank Jackie and Ernie Martinez, Jody Samuels, Kattie Brookskennion, Clay Mieure, Julie Bilby , Geniel Mieure and all the other volunteers who helped with the different events. And a very special Thanks to Geri Harding for her part in our shows. We can always depend on her. Just as we can always depend on the Service Club for a great BBQ.
